In the end it comes down to choosing the right camera for what you want to do. Now if you have been clicking photographs using your smartphone or an entry-level camera and you wish to upgrade, there are plenty of best DSLRs under Rs 1 lakh. Alternatively, there are also a few mirrorless cameras that would cater to those who want a compact camera.

Below is a list of top mid-range cameras with a wide spectrum of features across photography and cinematography in the Indian market that you could buy.

Canon EOS R10

The Canon EOS R10 is among the best mirrorless cameras under Rs 1 lakh, weighing about 429 grams. It has a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor with a 1.6x crop factor. The Canon camera shoots 23 frames per second (fps). This is aided by the DIGIC X image processor, allowing for high-speed readout and high image quality. The EOS R10 also has a wide normal ISO speed range of 100 to 32,000. It can also shoot videos in 4K at 60 fps. The Canon EOS R10 price in India starts at Rs 80,995.

Nikon Z 30

The Nikon Z 30 is the company’s smallest and lightest mirrorless camera in India, weighing about 350 grams. This mirrorless camera is best suited for vlogging. It has a vari-angle 3-inch touch-sensitive LCD. The company claims that users can expect to get up to 125 minutes of shooting time with the Z 30. Users can also shoot Full HD videos up to 120 frames per second for slow-motion videos. The camera comes with a 20MP APS-C sensor with features like Eye-Detection Autofocus and Full-time Autofocus (AF-F). It also has an ISO sensitivity of 100 to 51,200 (with expanded options of up to ISO 2,04,800).

The company has not announced the price, but considering this new mirrorless camera sits below the Z 50, the price is expected to be under or around Rs 80,000.

Sony A6400

The Sony A6400, although slightly old, is still a capable mirrorless camera in 2022. It has a touchscreen that can be flipped all the way around to 180 degrees. The Sony camera also supports 4K video recording at 30fps. The USP of the Sony A6400 is its real-time subject tracking and Eye AF. Sony claims that the camera has the world’s fastest 0.02 second AF acquisition speed.

The mirrorless camera has a 24.2 MP Exmor CMOS image sensor and a Bionz X image processor. It can shoot up to 11 fps with the mechanical shutter or 8 fps in its silent shooting mode with continuous AF/AE tracking. The camera has an ISO range of 32,000 to 1,02,400.

It is launched for a price of Rs 75,990 for the body, while the kit with a 16-50 mm lens will cost Rs 85,990.

Fujifilm X-T30

Similar to the previous iteration, Fujifilm X-T30 carries the same software that aims to yield an advanced level of AF speed, precision, and image quality. The camera has a high-res 1.62-million-dot LCD panel. It sports a 26.1-megapixel “X-Trans CMOS 4” sensor and has a high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” that is said to enable fast and accurate AF similar to flagship model X-T4. The camera is claimed to be capable of shooting high-quality photographs and full-scale 4K video at 30fps.

The Fujifilm camera is priced at Rs 88,999.

Canon EOS M50 Mark II

This one is a new Canon camera in the M-series. With Wi-Fi connectivity, the M50 Mark II helps transfer files from the camera to your smartphone within seconds. It has a 24.1MP CMOS sensor that can shoot 4K videos. The camera also supports YouTube live streaming for real-time video engagement on social media. It is the most affordable one in the list and is priced at Rs 58,995 in India.
