Domestic vs. International Travel

For those that live in the US, domestic travel would be considered traveling anywhere within the 50 states, including US territories (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, etc.). International travel is when you leave the US border and enter a new country, like leaving the US and going to London or Nigeria. They have their own customs and upon entering the country, you need to make sure you abide by their rules and regulations.

Normally, you do not need a passport to travel domestically. A passport is only necessary when traveling internationally; but always check the requirements of your destination.

Domestic Travel Requirements
