A wash sale occurs if you sell shares at a loss and buy additional shares (even in another account) of the same or substantially identical security within 30 days before or after the sale.
The Wash Sale Rule prevents an investor from obtaining the benefit of a tax loss without having reduced the investment. Under the rule, the loss is treated as "washed" when the new shares are acquired. The holding period of the originalshares is added to the cost basis of the reacquired shares and is deferred until the reacquired shares are sold.

If you view a watch list with a name that is longer than 25 characters, the first 23 characters display with the suffix -a (e.g., My early retirement wat-a).
Also, now that all of your watch lists are available regardless of the feature you used to add them (e.g., add watch lists using Fidelity Active Trader Pro® and Fidelity.com) it is possible that you may have watch lists with the same name causing duplicate watch list names. Watch lists with duplicate names display with the -a suffix.
