What is the IRSC promise program? ›

IRSC Promise offers a unique opportunity for qualifying graduates to secure a tuition-free Associate degree. There are no family income requirements, and applicants don't have to have stellar high school grades. The Promise does require a commitment to a full-time course of study at IRSC.

If withdrawal is desired, the student must submit the proper form(s) to any IRSC Enrollment and Student Services office on any campus. In some cases, withdrawals can be initiated on the college web site, but these will not be official until the appropriate signed document is received by the college.

If a Promise student receives an “F” grade in more than one classes that would result in an overall GPA that is less than 2.0, then the student would be disqualified from receiving Promise benefits.

“A withdrawal will be on the transcripts but does not affect GPA.”Croskey also noted that there aren't any limits to how many classes one can drop because they don't go on the transcript. Withdrawals though are limited and can look bad if there are too many on a student's transcript.

If you must withdraw, always withdraw officially

It is preferable to withdraw by meeting with an advisor. It's important to make sure that your official withdrawal was processed. If you can't meet with an advisor, you can usually also officially withdraw from classes using your online student account.

Satisfactory progress is considered to be the maintaining of a 2.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

The "College Promise," "LA College Promise," or "California College Promise" is a student success program administered by the True Promise program at LAMC. True Promise provides services, support, supplies, and other benefits in addition to covering enrollment fees and has no income requirement.

The California Promise Grant covers tuition at dozens of California community colleges. That means tuition-free college if you're eligible. Instead of paying $46 per credit, you'll pay nothing in tuition.

The RCC Promise program is part of a state and nationwide effort to provide affordable education. Full-time eligible students recieve free no-fee tuition and fees, support for textbooks, priority registration, access to educational and faculty advisors, activities and a dedicated community.

How do you qualify for NC promise? ›

There are no eligibility requirements to take advantage of NC Promise. All undergraduate students, including full and part-time new freshmen, returning students, transfer students, and students in online programs, receive the NC Promise tuition rate.
