He was a retired Electrician Apprentice and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Emelia, nee Bieser, Petri. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Robert A.

and Ruth Petri; a nephew, Robert Lee Petri all of Belleville and a niece, Jeannettee Ackiss of Norfolk, Va. Private funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday June 24 from the Moll Funeral Home in Mascoutah. Burial was in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Fayetteville. EVA LAYTON Eva J.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha E. Wennemann; two sons, Stanley B. (Mary) Surmeirer, of St. Libory; Harry J. (Dorothy) Surmeler of Bellville; four daughters, Frances (Urban) Hundelt, Annette (Herman) Fromme, both of St.

Libory; Florence A. (Raymond) Mense, of St. Libory; and Laura E. (Frank) Eddleman, of Florissant, Mo; two brothers, Libory Surmeler, of New Athens, and Bernard Surmeler, of St. Libory.

He was preceded in death by two of his daughters, Ethel and Bernette and one brother John and one sister Agnes Mueller. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the St. Liborious Church, American Legion Post 683 of St. Libory, Western Catholic Union.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at the St. Liborious Catholic Church. Bural was in the St. Liborious Catholic Cemetery.
