Who owns SIXT car rental in Europe? ›

The majority of the company is owned by the Sixt family, who manage the company. The remaining share is tradeable stock: SIX2 (XETRA).

A monthly car rental in Europe is available for up to 120 days. If you need something for longer, a SIXT+ car subscription is available.

How does the SIXT app work? ›

Simply enter your destination on the ride tab of the SIXT app and then choose one of our taxi categories. You will then be picked up as soon as possible and can track your driver on our app. Book a taxi with SIXT and be picked up in a matter of minutes in cities all across the US as well as many countries worldwide.

If you have a discount code, when making your reservation, apply the code in the payment page area. If the code is valid, the reservation amount will be automatically updated before you proceed with the payment.

You need to be at least 18 years old and have held your licence for at least a year to hire a car in Italy. Once you've selected your branch in Italy you can filter the available car categories by age. All drivers under the age of 25 are required to pay a young driver surcharge.

Italy's car rental insurance requirements are quite strict. If you are renting a car in Italy CDW insurance (Collision Damage Waiver) and Theft Protection coverage (TP) are required by law.
