Your insurance will start automatically if, before the start of the trip, you:

  • Paid for round-trip tickets with a premium Visa card.
  • Booked and paid for accommodation with a premium Visa card before the start of the trip
  • or paid for both tickets and accommodation before the start of the trip with a Visa premium card.

  • You have relevant documents on refugee status or temporary protection abroad.
  • Paid for tickets from the country of permanent residence and back with a premium Visa card; or paid for the accommodation with a premium Visa card, and tickets from the country of permanent residence and back - by any other method; or paid for the tour.

Please note that the travel insurance service for people temporarily living abroad is valid until May 31, 2024.

When you travel within your country of permanent residence*, your insurance will start automatically if you:

  • Pre-booked accommodation for at least 2 nights at a distance of at least 100 km from home with your premium Visa card.

Please note that in order for the insurance to take effect, payment for transport and/or accommodation must be made with your Visa premium card (the name on the card must match the name on the tickets and/or when booking the accommodation).

You can fill out the policy by downloading the certificate yourself from the link in the Insurance benefits section, or ask for help from the Visa concierge service.

The duration is 90 days per trip, but no more than 183 days per year. If the trip lasts more than 90 days, it is considered completely uninsured.

Your insurance starts and ends when you leave and enter your country of permanent residence.

How different cases are insured

To receive compensation for flight or baggage delay* for more than 4 hours, you must be registered for the flight and take an official document at the airport from the airline about the flight or baggage delay.

Please note that the service does not cover:

  • Loss of baggage in case of delay, confiscation or delay by representatives of the customs service
  • Requirements for baggage that was transported as cargo or on a waybill.
  • Flight cancellation.

*Luggage delay is insured only for departures from the country of permanent residence.

If you missed your flight because the car you were traveling in broke down or was involved in an accident or the public transport you used to get there did not arrive on schedule, and you wish to receive compensation, you must provide:

  • Evidence of all additional costs incurred by the cardholder.
  • Official letter regarding the actual delay of public transport.
  • Road accident act.

Please note that the insurance cover is only valid for legal trips.

In order to receive compensation for a missed transit flight, it is necessary to provide documents from the airline confirming the delay of the departure or arrival of the first flight. It is important to allow at least 2 hours between connecting flights.

Please note that the insurance cover is only valid for foreign trips.

To receive a refund for damaged or lost purchases*:

  • The purchase must be paid for 100% by card in one payment (not cash or credit) and the minimum value of the product must be at least 100 USD.
  • Proof of purchase, bank statement, warranty card, and repair receipts must be provided.
  • In case of theft, a police report must be provided.

*The service is valid for 90 days from the moment of purchase.

  • Enter data by which the insurance company can identify you as a client: full name, first 9 digits of the card, financial and local contact number.
  • The insurance company (in its turn) registers the application and passes it on to the doctor on duty.
  • The doctor contacts you and advises what to do and which clinic to go to.
  • Insurance is contacting the clinic in parallel to keep the situation under control.
  • For reimbursem*nt of expenses, keep all receipts, tickets and other documents that can confirm the fact of the event.

Please note that all expenses are initially paid by the cardholder himself, and the insurance can reimburse them only after consideration of the claim for compensation. Medical expenses that the cardholder will have after returning to the country of permanent residence are not covered by the insurance service.

You can claim compensation if your trip is canceled or shortened before it starts* due to:

  • Unforeseen illness, injury or death of the cardholder or his close relative.
  • Complications of pregnancy with consequences for the cardholder, if they occurred after the trip was booked.
  • Mandatory personal quarantine for the infected card holder.

In the event of an insurance event, the cardholder can count on coverage of all non-reimbursable expenses for unused travel and accommodation, other expenses that the cardholder has paid in advance or has to pay under the contract, as well as other reasonable travel expenses.

Please note that the service does not cover:

  • Expenses for the payment of refundable airport fees, customs duties and taxes.
  • Expenses for paying for a trip using miles, bonuses, points, etc.
  • Disruption of the trip due to a previously existing illness.
  • Disruption of the trip due to the absence or invalidity of the passport or visa.

*Insurance coverage is valid only for foreign trips.

The cardholder can count on insurance coverage in the event of an accident with a rented car* if:

  • The rent was paid 100% by card.
  • The card holder rents the car.
  • The cardholder has a valid driver's license for the class of the rented car.
  • The age of the driver is from 21 to 79 years.

Important! The insurance is valid only for the duration of the trip, but not more than 31 days, and covers only 2 accidents per year.

What the insurance does not cover:

  • Franchise and fines.
  • If the car is older than 20 years.
  • The cost of the car exceeds 75,000 USD.
  • If the driver of the rented car participated in races or competitions, drove under the influence of alcohol/drugs, has any criminal record for driving while intoxicated, and drives the car against the recommendations of a doctor.
